Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for an experienced Senior Equipment Procurement Manager to join a successful and growing business specialising in retail display equipment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to lead global sourcing, commercial pricing, and tendering activities while working closely with Sales, Design, and Project Management teams to secure new business.

You'll play a key role in developing supplier relationships across international markets, delivering commercially competitive tenders, and driving continuous improvement across procurement processes.

Key Duties

  • Lead the preparation of commercially competitive tender submissions for retail display equipment projects.
  • Analyse customer requirements, specifications, and technical drawings to develop accurate cost models.
  • Produce Bills of Materials (BOMs) and detailed cost breakdowns.
  • Develop procurement strategies across global supply chains, including Asia, Turkey, Europe, and the UK.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and supplier agreements.
  • Identify commercial opportunities, cost savings, and supply chain improvements.
  • Monitor commodity prices, freight costs, and currency fluctuations.
  • Build and maintain long-term strategic supplier relationships.
  • Evaluate supplier capability, quality, capacity, and financial stability.
  • Identify, onboard, and audit new suppliers.
  • Manage purchasing activities to ensure customer delivery requirements are achieved.
  • Maintain quality control standards and recover costs where supplier standards are not met.
  • Work closely with Business Development to develop winning tender strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement across procurement and tendering processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years' procurement or buying experience within the retail display equipment industry.
  • Previous management experience.
  • Experience sourcing products through international supply chains.
  • Strong supplier relationship management skills.
  • Excellent commercial pricing and negotiation experience with overseas manufacturers.
  • Experience using ERP systems such as Sage X3.
  • Degree educated.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Outstanding organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
