Materials & Production Planner to join a busy manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and analytical planner with experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain, or order management to play a key role in ensuring customer demand is balanced with production capacity.
Working closely with Customer Service, Supply Chain, Production, Purchasing, Dispatch, Quality, and Product Engineering teams, you'll manage the short-term production plan, coordinate customer orders, and help deliver products on time while maintaining accurate planning data within the ERP system.

- Key Duties
- Manage the short-term production plan and customer order schedule within agreed planning parameters.
- Balance customer demand with available production capacity.
- Work closely with Customer Service and Supply Chain teams to review demand and confirm achievable delivery dates.
- Communicate production risks, delays, and schedule changes to key stakeholders.
- Assess capacity constraints and support bottleneck reduction and backlog management.
- Adjust production priorities and process daily and weekly schedule changes, including urgent orders and workload balancing.
- Enter and maintain customer orders accurately within the ERP system.
- Create and release production orders, ensuring all checks are completed before release.
- Monitor production shortfalls and coordinate rescheduling, lead time changes, and order closures.
- Respond to lead time and order enquiries via internal systems, email, and Share Point.
- Prepare production documentation and escalate issues where required.
- Liaise with Purchasing and Dispatch regarding production and delivery commitments.
- Attend daily planning meetings and maintain accurate planning records and system data.
Requirements
- GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
- Previous experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain, order management, customer service, or a similar operational environment.
- Experience using ERP systems with accurate data entry skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point.
- Experience of Fourth Shift, SAP, or similar ERP systems is advantageous.
- Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage complex data accurately.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to work across multiple departments.
- Ability to work independently while managing changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
