The HR Apprentice will support the HR team with the day-to-day administration and coordination of HR activities across the business. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a fast-paced HR environment while working towards a recognised HR qualification.
The successful candidate will learn all aspects of HR operations including employee lifecycle administration, onboarding, HR systems, employee relations support, payroll administration and reporting, while developing knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice. This role is ideal for someone looking to begin or progress a career in Human Resources.
- Act as a first point of contact for HR queries via the HR inboxes.
- Support the HR team with day-to-day administrative tasks.
- Assist with preparing HR documentation including contracts, offer letters and employee correspondence.
- Support onboarding activities including pre-employment screening checks (PES) which include right to work checks, references and new starter administration.
- Coordinate induction sessions, welcome calls and employee HR touchpoints.
- Maintain employee records and ensure HR systems are kept accurate and up to date.
- Assist with processing changes including salary amendments, promotions and contractual updates.
- Support monthly payroll administration and preparation of payroll instructions.
- Produce basic HR reports including absence, headcount and employee data.
- Provide administrative support for employee relations matters, including note taking where required.
- Support HR projects and initiatives including wellbeing, engagement, diversity & inclusion and company-wide HR activities.
- Work collaboratively with managers and employees across the business.
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained when handling sensitive employee information.
- Attend apprenticeship training sessions and complete coursework within agreed deadlines.
- Occasional travel to other Acora offices may be required.
