The Senior Project Manager will bring extensive experience delivering complex, multi‑workstream data and AI transformation programmes within a consulting or professional services environment.
This role holds end‑to‑end accountability for engagement delivery, including project governance, financial management, client satisfaction, and overall programme health.
You will be a confident communicator with strong commercial awareness, experienced in managing senior stakeholders across multiple regions and complex organisational landscapes.
Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you will provide leadership and oversight across modern data platform implementations, enterprise AI rollouts, and broader transformation initiatives.
This includes partnering with solution architects, technical business analysts, data engineering leads, data science teams, privacy and compliance specialists, and senior business stakeholders to ensure outcomes are delivered to time, budget, and quality expectations.
- What you’ll do
- Programme & Project Delivery Leadership
- Lead high complexity, multi work stream data and AI programmes with minimal oversight
- Own end to end delivery from initiation through to deployment, hyper care, and transition to BAU
- Act as the primary point of contact for strategic, complex, or sensitive client engagements
- Oversee cross functional delivery teams (engineering, architecture, data science, PMO, BA)
- Ensure alignment between scope, requirements, technical delivery, and business objectives
- Establish and run programme governance structures (Steering Committees, RAID reviews, PMO forums)
- Produce high quality executive reporting, status packs, dashboards, and delivery health assessments
- Lead weekly reporting cycles, risk reviews, and delivery checkpoints. Provides well organised and proactive communication on updates
- Coordinate internal and client demos, showcases, and progress walkthroughs
- Drive decision‑making by presenting clear analysis, options, risks, and recommendations
- Own project financials including forecasting, budgeting, margin monitoring, and burn tracking
- Implement change control processes to manage scope deviations and contract impacts
- Support commercial teams in shaping Statements of Work, proposals, delivery estimates, and client commercials
- Identify and escalation potential commercial opportunities, scope extensions, and growth areas
- Stakeholder Management & Client Leadership
- Build strong relationships with senior client stakeholders across business, data, and technology domains
- Manage expectations, communicate delivery status transparently, and ensure client confidence
- Handle escalations professionally, ensuring swift mitigation and resolution
- Navigate ambiguity and anticipate downstream delivery implications
- Proactively identify risks, constraints, assumptions, and dependencies across workstreams
- Develop mitigation strategies, contingency plans, and clear ownership assignments
- Maintain consulting grade RAID logs and governance documentation
- Ensure cross team alignment on timelines, milestones, and interdependencies
- Team Leadership & Delivery Excellence
- Support and mentor mid‑level and junior PMs, Scrum Masters, and coordinators
- Encourage consistent adoption of best practices across Agile, hybrid, and waterfall environments
- Run Agile ceremonies, specifically the Standups, Retrospectives and Planning, Support the Technical Business Analyst during Refinement and Demos
- Ensure project documentation and artefacts are maintained to consulting standards in Dev Ops, Jira, Confluence, or equivalent tools
- Promote a culture of delivery excellence, continuous improvement, and transparency
- Create Requests for Changes (RFC), Project Initiation Documents (PID) and Project Closure Documents (PCD)
- What you’ll bring
- 5+ years of customer facing consulting or project delivery experience
- Proven track record managing complex data and AI programmes end to end
- Experience leading multi‑disciplinary delivery teams across several workstreams
- Experience in environments spanning data platforms, AI/ML deployment, integration, and analytics
- Strong stakeholder engagement and executive communication skills
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, drive clarity, and make informed decisions quickly.
- High emotional intelligence and calm, solution‑oriented approach under pressure
