We’re looking for a talented and driven Design Engineer to join our Design Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, innovative drainage solutions for a wide range of construction projects. In this role, you’ll combine technical expertise with customer insight—translating project requirements into practical, commercially viable designs that support both our customers and business growth. Location: Bedford (with move to Shefford within 24 months)
Full-time: 34.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Designing and developing drainage solutions using SolidWorks (sheet metal) and other design tools
  • Producing accurate 3D models, layouts, and technical drawings
  • Interpreting customer requirements, specifications, and construction drawings
  • Creating detailed technical proposals and specifications
  • Providing expert advice on product applications and system performance
  • Supporting costing and estimating with commercially viable designs
  • Managing multiple design enquiries to deliver on time and to a high standard
  • Collaborating with sales, manufacturing, and technical teams to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Building strong relationships with customers, consultants, and contractors

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong experience in a Design Engineering role (ideally within construction, drainage, or similar sectors)
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (especially sheet metal design) and experience using AutoCAD
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • High attention to detail and commitment to design accuracy
  • Excellent organisation and time‑management skills
  • Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused mindset
