About the Role
Workshop Manager – ACME Protective Systems LTD – Glasgow
Salary: £35,000 per annum, Dependent on Experience
Location: Glasgow
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Responsibilities
- Planning, coordinating and overseeing all workshop operations and workflows
- Ensuring work is completed on time, within budget and to specified quality standards (overtime working may be necessary at times to ensure client needs are met)
- Managing workshop scheduling to optimise productivity and turnaround time
- Monitoring and maintaining workshop equipment, tools, testing equipment and inventory
- Implementing and enforcing health and safety regulations, risk assessments and safe working practices. Ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations (e.g., ISO 9001 standards)
- Conducting regular safety audits, risk assessments, tool inspections and training refreshers.
- Controlling waste and support budgeting activities
- Preparing regular operational reports for senior management
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong understanding of workshop processes (mechanical, fabrication, electrical, safety etc.)
- Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, motors, PLC\'s and industry equipment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation
- Familiarity with workshop management systems, relevant electrical codes and standards
- Excellent people management and team leadership skills
- Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- NVQ, HNC/HND, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Demonstratable experience in electrical installation, maintenance and manufacture
