About the Role

Workshop Manager – ACME Protective Systems LTD – Glasgow

Salary: £35,000 per annum, Dependent on Experience

Location: Glasgow

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Responsibilities

  • Planning, coordinating and overseeing all workshop operations and workflows
  • Ensuring work is completed on time, within budget and to specified quality standards (overtime working may be necessary at times to ensure client needs are met)
  • Managing workshop scheduling to optimise productivity and turnaround time
  • Monitoring and maintaining workshop equipment, tools, testing equipment and inventory
  • Implementing and enforcing health and safety regulations, risk assessments and safe working practices. Ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations (e.g., ISO 9001 standards)
  • Conducting regular safety audits, risk assessments, tool inspections and training refreshers.
  • Controlling waste and support budgeting activities
  • Preparing regular operational reports for senior management

Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong understanding of workshop processes (mechanical, fabrication, electrical, safety etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, motors, PLC\'s and industry equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation
  • Familiarity with workshop management systems, relevant electrical codes and standards
  • Excellent people management and team leadership skills
  • Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • NVQ, HNC/HND, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Demonstratable experience in electrical installation, maintenance and manufacture
