The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for the tracking and execution of specimen shipments.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Ship UN3373 Biological Substances Category B (specimens) to investigator sites, referral laboratories and inter company (ACM) laboratories according to the laboratory protocol and client/project manager instructions.
- Pack specimens in accordance to IATA regulations.
- Arrange for the transportation of specimens to investigators/laboratories via appropriate courier services.
- Transport specimens from 23 Hospital Fields Road to 36 Hospital Fields Road.
- Order sufficient dry ice for frozen shipments.
- Build/manage relationships with courier companies.
- Create/review documentation i.e. proforma invoices for Non EU countries (both for specimen and outbound kit supply).
- Liaise with Project Management, Clinical Trial Administrators and CTSM (Clinical Trials Specimen Management) for shipment updates.
- Handle any day-to-day queries that may arise both internal/external.
- Assist with pricing requests as and when requested.
- Be able to operate all courier systems (DHL, TNT, FedEx).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The post-holder is responsible for ensuring that all the above processes are performed in accordance with definitive study protocols, current ICH Guideline for Good Clinical Practice, UK Clinical Trial Statutory Instruments, Health and Safety Legislation and Human Resources policies, other legislation that is relevant to the responsibilities of the post & standard operation procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- 5 GCSEs Grade C and above or equivalent.
- Experience from laboratory and/or highly regulated environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
