The Academy of Contemporary Music (AC) is seeking an experienced GCSE Maths Tutor to join our Further Education provision based in Guildford town centre. AC is a specialist music and games college delivering FE programmes. Students who have not yet achieved a Grade 4 in GCSE Maths and/or English are required to resit alongside their vocational studies. Maths examinations are taken at our funding partner institution, East Surrey College, and follow the Edexcel specification.
Teaching Hours
- Tuesdays, 9:00 am–1:00 pm
- Thursdays, 9:00 am–12:00 pm
Responsibilities
- Teach small groups of students across the two half‑days per week during term time.
- Engage, inspire, and effectively support students' learning and development.
- Support students who are resitting GCSE Maths.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver curriculum aligned with the Edexcel specification.
- Mark and assess students' work in accordance with the institution's procedures.
Qualifications
- Local, experienced Maths tutor with a background in GCSE Maths (grade 4 or above).
- Ability to work within a specialist music and games college environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to support students' resit journeys and improve outcomes.
