Sector: Corporate Finance – TMT M&A Advisory
Seniority: Vice President (7+ years’ experience)
We are supporting a leading, globally integrated mid-market investment bank in hiring a Vice President (VP) to join its highly successful Technology, Media & Telecoms (TMT) corporate finance team in London. The firm advises established corporates, prominent private equity investors, and high-growth founders on mid-market M&A transactions, distinguishing itself through deep sector specialization and a highly collaborative, international network. This is a key leadership appointment within a high-performing team.
The successful candidate will not only execute transactions but will also act as a "Deal Captain," driving complex TMT processes from origination to closing. You will play a critical role in shaping the local team culture, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the commercial expansion of the TMT practice across the UK and international markets. This is an opportunity to join a respected global platform with a robust pipeline of cross-border mandates, offering the entrepreneurial agility of a specialized sector team combined with the resources and stability of a major international partnership.
The ideal candidate brings dedicated M&A execution experience (ideally with TMT sector exposure) from an investment bank, elite advisory boutique, or leading corporate finance practice, alongside strong leadership qualities and the ambition to fast-track toward Director and Partner levels.
Key Responsibilities:- Deal Leadership: Lead complex TMT M&A transactions (sell-side, buy-side, carve-outs, and growth capital raises) as the primary project lead; own the process strategy, structuring, and negotiations.
- Sector Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of sub-sector trends (e.g., Software/SaaS, IT Services, Digital Media, Tech-Enabled Services, Fintech) to provide insightful, sector-specific advisory to clients.
- Commercial Origination: Support the partner group in business development efforts; identify potential targets, lead pitch preparations, and cultivate a personal network of corporate clients, sponsors, and intermediaries in the tech ecosystem.
- Client Management: Act as the primary trusted advisor to C-level executives, founders, and private equity investors throughout the deal lifecycle; manage sensitive stakeholder dynamics and deliver high-impact strategic advice.
- Team Supervision: Oversee and mentor Associates and Analysts; review complex financial models (LBO, DCF, merger consequences) and valuation analyses (including key tech metrics like SaaS KPIs and recurring revenue quality) to ensure quality control.
- Process Management: Coordinate all workstreams, managing external stakeholders (legal, tax, technical, commercial due diligence) to ensure efficient and successful deal closures.
- Minimum of 7 years of corporate finance / M&A advisory experience within a reputable Investment Bank, M&A Boutique, or major professional services corporate finance practice.
- A strong track record of executing transactions within the Technology, Media, or Telecoms (TMT) sectors is highly preferred, though candidates with strong generalist mid-market M&A experience and a demonstrable interest in tech will also be considered.
- Proven track record of managing full deal lifecycles independently, with specific exposure to mid-market transactions.
- Strong technical foundation; able to guide the team on complex valuation and modeling issues while focusing on the broader deal strategy.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills; confident in presenting to and challenging senior stakeholders, founders, and private equity partners.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to help build a team and drive business growth in a dynamic, sector-focused environment.
- Fluency in English is required; fluency in an additional European language is highly advantageous but not essential.
This is a unique opportunity to step into a leadership role within a highly collaborative and entrepreneurial team, offering significant client visibility and a clear, performance-based path to senior leadership. To express interest, please submit your CV.
