We are supporting a leading independent private equity firm in hiring an Investment Associate for their London-based Technology investment team. The firm manages significant institutional capital and specializes in control and minority investments in high-growth software, data, digital infrastructure, and technology-enabled services businesses across the UK and Europe.

This is a pure-play buyside role. The Associate will join a compact, high-performance technology-focused investment team, gaining exposure to complex deal structuring, platform acquisitions, buy-and-build strategies, and operational value creation in software and digital businesses. Unlike advisory roles, this position requires a strong investor mindset—focusing on capital allocation, unit economics, scalability, and long-term value creation alongside founder-led and management teams.

The ideal candidate brings rigorous financial and commercial analysis skills from a Top Tier Investment Bank (TMT / Software M&A or Leveraged Finance) and is seeking to transition into a high-deal-flow private equity environment with a strong track record in technology investing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investment Analysis: Screen, evaluate, and prioritize new technology and software investment opportunities. Conduct detailed market mapping across vertical software, SaaS, fintech, data, and IT services segments. Assess competitive positioning, scalability, pricing models, and customer retention dynamics.
  • Financial Modelling: Build, maintain, and own complex financial models, including SaaS operating models and LBO structures. Analyze ARR/MRR, churn, cohort performance, CAC/LTV, margin progression, and cash flow generation. Perform scenario and downside analyses and assess return profiles (IRR/MOIC).
  • Due Diligence: Lead financial, commercial, and technical due diligence workstreams. Review data rooms, analyze revenue quality, customer concentration, and product roadmaps, and coordinate external advisors on accounting, technology, and cyber assessments.
  • Investment Committee: Prepare and present high-quality investment memoranda and materials to the Partners and Investment Committee. Clearly articulate the technology thesis, growth strategy, valuation framework, and key operational and execution risks.
  • Portfolio Management: Work closely with founders, CTOs, and executive teams of portfolio companies to support product strategy, go-to-market initiatives, international expansion, and bolt-on acquisitions. Monitor KPIs and performance against investment plans.
  • Transaction Execution: Support and manage all phases of deal execution, including structuring minority and control investments, SPA negotiation, equity incentive schemes, financing arrangements, and coordination with legal, technical, and financial advisors through signing and closing.
Candidate Profile
  • 1–4 years of experience strictly within Investment Banking (TMT / Technology M&A / Leveraged Finance) at a Bulge Bracket or Elite Boutique, with strong exposure to software and technology transactions.
  • Strong academic background from a leading university, with a solid quantitative and analytical foundation.
  • Advanced technical skillset, including extensive experience building SaaS operating models, LBO models, and valuation frameworks for high-growth technology businesses.
  • Strong understanding of software metrics, subscription economics, and digital business models.
  • Fluency in English (additional European languages advantageous).
  • High level of autonomy and ability to operate effectively in a lean, entrepreneurial, and performance-driven environment.
  • Strong commercial judgement, attention to detail, and a demonstrated long-term interest in technology investing and value creation.
  • Highly motivated, resilient, and comfortable working in fast-paced, transaction-driven environments.

This is a unique opportunity to join a highly active technology-focused investment platform with a strong track record of successful investments, offering rapid responsibility, direct Partner exposure, and a steep learning curve in private equity technology investing. To express interest, please submit your CV.
