A PE-backed business services group is building out its in-house M&A function in London to drive an active buy-and-build strategy. The business is acquisitive across the UK and Europe, with a live pipeline of bolt-on targets and full sponsor backing to complete multiple transactions per year.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead acquisition execution end to end, from target approach through due diligence, negotiation and completion
- Build and own financial models for bolt-on acquisitions, including synergy and integration cases
- Run the target pipeline: market mapping, founder approaches and maintaining a live deal funnel
- Manage external advisers (corporate finance, legal, DD providers) through each transaction
- Work directly with the CEO, CFO and sponsor deal team on M&A strategy and board reporting
Candidate Profile
- 3–7 years in M&A, corporate finance, transaction services or commercial due diligence
- Full-cycle deal execution on mid-market transactions; buy-side exposure an advantage
- Strong modelling and valuation skills, comfortable owning the numbers in front of a board
- Commercially confident dealing directly with founders and management teams
- Fluent English; further European languages an advantage for cross-border pipeline
