Senior Associate – Private Equity Advisory

A leading private equity advisory boutique is seeking an Senior Associate to join its growing London team. The firm advises mid-market private equity sponsors across buy-side and sell-side M&A, GP‑ and LP‑led secondaries, portfolio solutions, and capital raising. Operating within a lean and highly technical environment, this role offers broad exposure, significant responsibility, and direct interaction with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Execution: Own core workstreams across M&A mandates, GP‑led restructurings, LP stake sales, and capital raises, including modelling, valuation, due diligence, and preparation of transaction materials.
- Client Engagement: Support senior leadership in managing relationships with private equity clients, management teams, and institutional investors throughout live processes.
- Secondaries Advisory: Contribute to GP‑led and LP‑led secondary processes through portfolio analysis, buyer mapping, structuring, and market positioning.
- Deal Structuring & Financial Analysis: Produce advanced financial models, scenario analyses, and structuring proposals for complex private equity and fund-level transactions.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor private markets activity, PE fund strategies, fund performance, and investor sentiment to support origination and execution initiatives.
- Documentation & Presentation: Prepare investment memoranda, CIMs, process letters, data room materials, and board-level presentations.
- Cross‑Functional Coordination: Liaise with legal, tax, and financial advisors to ensure smooth execution and high-quality deliverables.
- Strategic Contribution: Support broader firm initiatives across business development, research, and thought leadership in the private equity ecosystem.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: 2–5 years’ experience in investment banking (M&A), secondaries advisory, private equity, private credit, or transaction services with strong analytical and modelling exposure.
- Technical Competence: Advanced financial modelling skills, valuation expertise, and experience managing analytical workstreams under tight deadlines.
- Execution Experience: Direct involvement in live transactions, ideally across M&A, GP‑led or LP‑led secondaries, or private markets investing.
- Commercial Mindset: Ability to understand deal rationale, assess asset quality, and articulate investment themes concisely.
- Communication Skills: Clear written and verbal communication, with confidence in presenting to senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Personality & Mindset: Highly motivated, detail-oriented, entrepreneurial, and comfortable taking ownership in a lean, fast‑paced environment.
- Education: Strong academic background in finance, economics, engineering, or related quantitative fields.
- Location: London-based, with occasional travel to European markets.
