We're working with a North London Local Authority to recruit an experienced SEND High Needs Accountant to lead financial management for the High Needs Block within the Education Inclusion directorate. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced local government finance professional to play a key role in supporting SEND services, providing strategic financial advice, and driving sustainable financial planning across education.
The role will involve:
- Leading financial management for the High Needs Block and Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG)
- Budget monitoring, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Business partnering with senior leaders across Education, SEND, and Inclusion
- Supporting service transformation through financial modelling and business case development
- Producing statutory financial information and supporting year-end closedown
- Identifying financial risks, efficiencies, and savings opportunities
- Leading and developing a small finance team
We're looking for candidates with:
- CCAB, CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Strong local authority finance experience
