Lancashire County Council is seeking an experienced SEND Case Officer to join its SEND Service on a part-time basis (18.5 hours per week). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND professional to manage a statutory caseload, draft high-quality Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), and work collaboratively with families, schools, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Writing EHCPs
- Managing a caseload
- Navigating the Education Health Module (EHM)
- Ensuring statutory processes are completed in line with SEND legislation
The role is 18.5 hours per week, split across 3 working days, with attendance in the office every Tuesday required.
Main Duties:
- Manage a caseload of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Draft, amend, and maintain high-quality, legally compliant Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Navigate and utilise the Education Health Module (EHM) effectively to manage statutory processes
- Coordinate Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments where required
- Coordinate annual reviews and ensure statutory timescales are met
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, schools, educational professionals, and other stakeholders
