Responsibilities

  • Lead borough‑wide and area‑based capital works programmes (c. £20m), including fire safety and major refurbishment schemes
  • Manage consultants, contractors and in‑house teams to deliver on time, to budget and to a high standard
  • Take ownership of financial control, performance management and quality assurance across multiple projects
  • Lead resident consultation and manage customer expectations throughout delivery
  • Ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, Fire Safety Act and wider H&S duties
  • Produce clear reports for senior management, members and forums

Requirements

  • Strong background delivering housing capital works, ideally fire safety and high‑rise projects
  • Solid knowledge of Building Safety Act, housing legislation and leaseholder consultation
  • Proven experience managing large budgets and multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Degree in a construction‑related discipline (MRICS / MCIOB desirable)
  • Confident communicator who can lead stakeholders and residents with authority
