Our client in Islington is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Duty Occupational Therapist to join a well-structured and dynamic team. The client offers a full time and part time contract with an opportunity to work from home, a fair and manageable caseload, and further training in your portfolio. The vacancy will be for an initial 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.
Responsibilities
- Screen and prioritise incoming referrals based on urgency and risk.
- Determine appropriate pathways, including assessment, provision of advice, or signposting.
- Respond to duty queries from professionals, service users, and carers.
- Undertake occupational therapy assessments focusing on functional ability and independence.
- Identify environmental barriers and risks within the home.
- Recommend and arrange provision of community equipment (e.g. grab rails, seating, bathing aids).
- Assess for and refer for minor and major adaptations in line with legislation and local policy.
- Ensure safe and appropriate use of prescribed equipment.
- Respond to urgent cases, including hospital discharges and individuals at risk of admission.
To Be Successful
- Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in duty.
- HCPC Registration.
- Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you).
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Occupational Therapist Qualification.
