We're working with Haringey Council to recruit an experienced Education Safeguarding Advisor / LADO to join their Safeguarding & Social Care division. This is a specialist role focusing on child protection within education settings - a key statutory post that supports safeguarding across the borough.

The Role:

This post will see you take the lead in managing allegations made against education professionals, providing expert safeguarding advice to schools, early years settings, and post-16 providers. You'll coordinate multi-agency responses, chair strategy meetings, deliver safeguarding training, and support education professionals in maintaining safe environments for children and young people. It's a busy and high-profile role requiring confidence, professionalism, and a deep understanding of safeguarding frameworks.

Key Duties:

  • Lead and coordinate the response to allegations made against individuals in education roles
  • Provide safeguarding guidance across education settings from Early Years to Post-16
  • Deliver training and raise awareness around safe practice
  • Chair meetings and contribute to multi-agency safeguarding responses
  • Produce high-quality reports and maintain accurate records
  • Visit and engage with schools and other educational establishments

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified and registered Social Worker (Social Work England)
  • Strong background in safeguarding and child protection
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and Keeping Children Safe in Education
  • Confident in liaising with professionals at all levels
  • Experience managing complex cases and contributing to strategic safeguarding activity

About the Team:

You'll join a small, experienced LADO service supported by a Service Manager and Business Support Officer. The team sits within Haringey's wider Engagement, Safeguarding, and Quality Assurance Service, offering regular supervision and opportunities for ongoing learning and development.
