We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join a multi-disciplinary Therapeutic Team across five SEN schools in the West Midlands. This full-time, term-time role is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract and provides an exciting opportunity to support children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as neurodiverse conditions such as ASD.

Main Duties

  • Delivering evidence-based, psychologically informed occupational therapy interventions for children and young people.
  • Conducting OT assessments to identify individual needs and designing individualised and group-based intervention programmes.
  • Providing specialist OT advice and guidance for behaviour plans, teaching plans, risk assessments, and EHCPs.
  • Developing, delivering, and evaluating therapeutic training for education staff.
  • Using outcome and evaluation tools to measure intervention effectiveness and reporting findings to senior management.
  • Providing specialist OT knowledge and guidance through consultation with colleagues.
  • Attending team meetings, CPD days, and contributing to service development initiatives.
  • Travelling between school sites to provide on-site support and consultation; driving licence and access to a vehicle required (travel expenses reimbursed).

To Be Successful

  • Qualified and HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience supporting children and young people with SEMH needs and neurodiverse conditions, ideally in educational or specialist settings.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Passionate about helping children develop confidence, independence, and personal achievement.
  • Resilient, enthusiastic, and able to work across multiple school sites.
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Enhanced DBS (we can assist with this).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • (Desirable) Experience delivering staff training and using outcome evaluation tools.
