Westminster City Council is expanding its current team with a dedicated Mental Health Social Worker. The role offers flexible working arrangements, excellent team support, and an empowering work environment. It will start with an initial 3‑6 month term, with potential for extension, and the rate is dependent on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete assessments under the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • Formulate risk assessments around harm to self or others
  • Work with vulnerable adults with mental health
  • Manage care for a caseload of service users
  • Provide report writing and assessment
  • Handle complex cases
  • Liaise with other professional bodies while working within the Mental Health Act
  • Safeguard adults
  • Offer self‑directed support/personal budgets

Requirements / Experience preferred:

  • Post‑qualifying experience as a Mental Health Social Worker within the UK social care industry
  • SWE registration
  • 1 year of post‑qualifying experience within the UK
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (obtainable through us)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
