Barking and Dagenham Council are seeking a Children\’s Occupational Therapy Assistant who has a minimum of 2 years experience working with children and in social care. A unique opportunity has arisen to join a small team who are committed and passionate about improving the lives of children/young people with disabilities, complex health needs or chronic illness.The client offers a Part-timecontract with an opportunity to work from home, a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio. The vacancy will be for an initial 3 – 6 months with potential for extension. Main Duties for the Children\’s Occupational Therapy Assistant includes. Moving and handling assessment and advice: Including provision of hoists/slings and risk assessments addressing specific needs of the child in their home environment. Home adaptations: Assessment of potential need for adaptations through the national Disabled Facility Grant. To arrange delivery / installation and review equipment / adaptations for children using the appropriate assessment tools and guidance, taking account of individual circumstances and being sensitive to the client context.
