My Client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to strengthen oversight of their responsive repairs contract with a major contractor. The role will require working 1 day per week in the office in South London and 4 days working from home. This role has arisen due to concerns around cost control and contract compliance, particularly relating to variations and work order management. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring value for money and robust commercial governance.

Responsibilities

  • Review and audit responsive repair work orders submitted by the contractor
  • Identify and challenge potential overcharging or 'job building' practices
  • Validate and assess variations against agreed contractual limits
  • Investigate the high volume of self-approved variations
  • Provide clear justification, reporting, and recommendations on flagged works
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to strengthen commercial controls and processes

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within social housing or repairs & maintenance contracts
  • Strong knowledge of responsive repairs and schedule of rates contracts
