Brighton & Hove City Council are looking to expand their Specialist Community Disability Service 25+ team with a dedicated Adults Social Worker looking for an opportunity to join a fast-paced and supportive service. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-structured and organised team that offers flexible ways of working and opportunities for professional development. This role will be for an initial 3–6 months with potential for extension subject to internal circumstances and performance.

The successful candidate will ideally be a car driver due to travel requirements across the community, although this is not essential.

Adults Social Worker responsibilities include:

  • Managing fast-paced duty work within the Specialist Community Disability Service 25+ team
  • Supporting hospital discharges and ensuring safe and timely transitions into the community
  • Completing placement reviews and responding to placement breakdowns
  • Undertaking strengths-based assessments and support planning for adults with disabilities
  • Working collaboratively with health professionals, families, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes
  • Identifying and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns where abuse or neglect is suspected
  • Using analytical skills and professional judgement to inform assessments, interventions, and decision making

Minimum requirements / Experience preferred:

  • Experience of working within Adults Social Care
  • Experience completing duty work and managing fast-paced cases
  • Social Work England Registration
  • 1 year post-qualifying experience within the UK Social Care industry
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
