Overview
Ackerman Pierce is currently supporting a leading local authority within Sutton to recruit for a Team Manager – Locality Team within the Social Care Industry on a permanent basis paying £49,056-£57,402 P/Annum.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Head of Service, manage day-to-day operations of a multidisciplinary Locality Team and provide direction and management oversight of Social Workers and support staff within Child Protection, Child in Need and Assessment and Referral services.
- Manage a team of 4 Social Workers and 1 Specialist Support Worker, responsible for case management decisions and compliance with practice standards, legal frameworks and policy.
- Collaborate with partners in the Borough (health, education, voluntary sector) to create joint plans to support young people.
- Ensure staff have the knowledge, skills and support to undertake their roles.
- Work collaboratively with other teams and organisations in health, education and legal services to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.
- Quality assure work through robust assessments, plans and outcomes for families and young people.
- Provide clear case direction to all staff members and partner agencies within the team.
- Support staff to adopt creative and innovative approaches while effectively managing time to meet deadlines and demonstrate measurable outcomes.
Experience / Qualifications
- Bachelor\’s degree or equivalent in Social Work; Master\’s degree preferred; registration with Social Work England.
- Extensive post-qualification practice experience with strong leadership and managerial skills to manage and motivate a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989 and Working Together 2023.
- Proven ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and community partners.
- Minimum requirements: 3 years\’ post-qualifying experience in a similar UK role; Enhanced DBS/CRB; eligibility to work in the UK; DipSW/CQSW equivalent; SWE Registered; evidence of continuing professional development; experience in a multidisciplinary team setting.
