Southend-on-Sea City Council is seeking an experienced Fostering Advanced Practitioner to join its Recruitment & Assessment Team, supporting high-quality fostering practice and ensuring children’s needs remain at the centre of all assessments and decisions.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee complex and high-sensitivity fostering assessments
- Provide specialist advice, consultation, and professional guidance
- Produce clear, evidence-based assessments and realistic care plans
- Ensure statutory compliance with fostering regulations and National Minimum Standards
- Support and supervise staff, promoting high standards of practice
Requirements
- Recognised social work qualification and Social Work England registration
- Completed ASYE with a minimum of three years’ post-qualifying experience
- Practice Educator status
- Experience or strong knowledge of fostering practice and trauma-informed approaches
- Proven ability to supervise staff and oversee complex statutory caseloads
