Senior Social Worker - Family Support & Safeguarding Team

We are looking to recruit a Senior Social Worker in the Family Support & Safeguarding Team within London Borough of Newham. The successful candidate will be working in a well-structured, organised team who are growing their social worker staffing levels. Newham pay close attention to looking after their Social Workers and strive to ensure they feel supported and welcomed in their roles. The responsibilities of the Senior Social Worker includes: Ability to support Social Workers to undertake complex social work assessments Experience of formulating support, protection and care plans Ability to negotiate with colleagues and partner agencies to resolve differences of opinion Ability to build effective, long lasting relationships with a range of service providers both from statutory and voluntary agencies Attending court and giving evidence when required Initiating and implementing child protection plans Managing packages of care Undertaking parenting and risk assessments Chairing children in need meetings. To ideal candidate will have: Social Work England registration Eligibility to work in the UK Social Work qualified (MA/BSc/DPSW/CQSW/MSc/BA) Working with Ackerman Pierce you will be guaranteed weekly payment and access to continued profession development, including a dedicated consultant to support you through the interview and on boarding process.
