We are currently seeking experienced Occupational Therapists for a local authority Adult Social Care service in London. This opportunity is ideal for OTs with a strong background in Adult Social Care, equipment provision, moving & handling, and home adaptations, who are passionate about promoting independence and supporting individuals to remain safely in their own homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake strength-based Occupational Therapy assessments within Adult Social Care
- Assess for and recommend appropriate equipment and minor/major adaptations
- Complete moving and handling assessments, providing practical and safe solutions
- Support service users and carers with the safe use of equipment and adaptations
- Promote independence, reablement, and hospital admission prevention
- Work collaboratively with health professionals, housing services, and partner agencies
- Manage a varied caseload in line with service priorities
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic records
- Contribute to outcome-focused care planning in line with the Care Act 2014
Requirements
- Diploma or BSc in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Proven experience within Adult Social Care/community settings
- Strong experience in: Equipment provision, Moving & handling assessments, Home adaptations
- Good understanding of strength-based practice and the Care Act 2014
