A Local Authority located in Herefordshire is seeking a qualified, HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist to join its Independent Living Service. This role focuses on supporting adults of all ages to maintain independence, wellbeing, and quality of life through strengths-based, person-centred practice within the community.
Main Duties:
- Complete statutory Occupational Therapy functional, social, and environmental assessments
- Apply a strengths-based approach to identify risks, barriers, and preventative strategies
- Support adults in their own homes to engage in meaningful daily activities
- Recommend and facilitate provision of equipment, minor adaptations, and specialist community resources
- Undertake moving and handling assessments promoting dignity, safety, and independence
- Work collaboratively with social workers, health professionals, housing teams, families, and carers
- Maintain accurate documentation and work in line with safeguarding and local authority procedures
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC Registration
- Experience working in Adult Social Care or community settings
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and person-centred practice
- Strong communication, organisational, and caseload management skills
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS (assistance available)
