A local authority in Nottinghamshire is looking to recruit an experienced Occupational Therapist to join their ICELS (Independent Community Equipment Loan Service) team. The service supports adults and paediatric individuals by providing specialist equipment to enable independence, wellbeing, and improved quality of life. Occupational Therapists in the ICELS team work closely with colleagues in Social Care and Health, reviewing equipment requests, providing expert guidance, and ensuring timely and appropriate provision of resources.

Main Duties:

  • Review specialist equipment requests for adults and paediatric clients, identifying suitable items from available store stock
  • Provide support to prescribers, responding to clinical queries and sourcing relevant information
  • Participate in product awareness sessions to maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment options
  • Log work accurately and update records in Webelms and spreadsheet databases
  • Provide clear clinical reasoning for equipment provision, challenging and suggesting alternative approaches where appropriate
  • Contribute to multi-agency collaboration and ensure adherence to statutory responsibilities
  • Support service development and the promotion of strengths-based, person-centred practice

Requirements:

  • Diploma/BSc in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC Registration
  • Several years post-qualification experience, with proven clinical reasoning skills
  • Experience in adult and paediatric equipment provision and assessment
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can assist)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle desirable
