Contract: Full-time | Initial 3-6 months with potential for extension. A local authority in Hull is looking to recruit an experienced Occupational Therapist to join their Adult Social Care team. The service promotes independence, resilience and wellbeing, supporting adults to achieve their goals and live life to the fullest. Occupational Therapists in Hull work closely with colleagues in Social Care and Health, providing person-centred, strengths-based interventions that focus on enabling independence in people's own homes.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake holistic Occupational Therapy assessments with an occupational focus
  • Deliver reablement assessments and outcome-focused care planning
  • Recommend and coordinate specialist equipment, adaptations and assistive technology
  • Carry out moving and handling assessments and provide safe, practical solutions
  • Contribute to safeguarding assessments and multi-agency working
  • Manage an allocated caseload, prioritising tasks in line with statutory responsibilities
  • Support student education and provide supervision for unregistered staff
  • Contribute to service development and the promotion of strengths-based practice

Requirements

  • Diploma/BSc in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC Registration
  • Previous experience working with Adults in community or hospital settings
  • Experience of moving and handling assessments and care planning
  • Strong communication and report writing skills
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can assist)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle desirable
