Middlesbrough Council is seeking an experienced SEND Case Officer to join its highly regarded SEND Assessment and Review Team. Following a positive Local Area SEND Inspection outcome, the service continues to be committed to delivering high-quality support and positive outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND professional to manage a varied caseload, coordinate statutory SEND processes, and work collaboratively with families, schools, and partner agencies to ensure children and young people receive the support they need.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing children and young people undergoing Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments, maintaining existing EHCPs, and coordinating annual reviews in line with statutory requirements.
Main Duties:- Manage a caseload of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Coordinate Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments from referral through to completion
- Draft, amend, and maintain high-quality, legally compliant Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Coordinate annual reviews and ensure all statutory processes are completed within required timescales
- Monitor the progress and status of children and young people within an allocated caseload
- Work collaboratively with parents, schools, and partner agencies
