An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Speech & Language Therapist to join an independent specialist day school based in West Kent, supporting children and young people with complex needs. This role is term-time only, working two days per week.
Main Duties
- Undertake comprehensive speech and language therapy assessments for children and young people with diverse and complex needs.
- Develop and deliver individualised therapy plans based on clinical formulation and evidence-based practice.
- Provide specialist advice, training, and support to education and residential staff to ensure therapeutic approaches are embedded in daily practice.
- Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to promote effective communication, engagement, and learning outcomes.
- Contribute to EHCP processes, progress reviews, and multi-agency meetings.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with professional standards.
- Support the development of communication-friendly environments and resources across the setting.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
- HCPC registration and membership of RCSLT.
- Experience of working with children and young people with complex communication needs, autism, and/or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and experience of delivering individual and group therapy.
- Enhanced DBS (assistance can be provided).
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
