We are looking to recruit a Senior Practitioner in the Adults Learning Disabilities Team within Hackney. The successful candidate will be working in a well-structured, organised team who are growing their social worker staffing levels. Responsibilities

  • Provide professional leadership and supervision to social workers and practitioners within the Adults Learning Disabilities service
  • Hold a complex caseload, including safeguarding, Court of Protection, and high‐risk cases
  • Undertake and quality-assure Care Act assessments, support plans, reviews, and Mental Capacity Act assessments
  • Lead on safeguarding enquiries, ensuring robust decision-making and adherence to statutory responsibilities
  • Support best interest decision-making and complex care planning, including transitions and placements
  • Act as a practice lead, promoting strengths-based, person-centred, and outcome-focused approaches
  • Offer expert advice and guidance to staff, partners, and other professionals
  • Work collaboratively with health colleagues, providers, families, and advocates to deliver coordinated support
  • Contribute to service development, practice improvement, and performance management
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and legally compliant recording and case management
  • Deputise for the Team Manager as required and support duty and escalation processes

Ideal Candidate

  • Social Work England registration
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Social Work qualified (MA/BSc/DipSW/CQSW/MSc/BA)
