Reading Borough Council are looking to expand their current team with a dedicated Adults Homelessness Senior Social Worker looking for an opportunity to join a well-structured and organised team. As well as joining a supportive team structure, our client also offers a competitive salary, a wide range of flexible working opportunities and access to a wide range of training.
This role will be for an initial 3-6 months with potential for extension subject to internal circumstances and your performance.
The Adults Homelessness Senior Social Worker role includes:
- Working to support individuals with complex needs, including those who are rough sleeping or residing in homelessness support services.
- Being part of the Advice and Wellbeing Hub team while working in partnership with the Homelessness Teams.
- Playing a crucial part in breaking the cycle of rough sleeping, where individuals are placed in 24/7 supported accommodation only to be evicted due to unmanaged behaviours like hoarding, poor personal care, aggression, or mental health issues.
- Providing the right interventions so that non-statutory commissioned services can manage these behaviours and support individuals in making progress towards a positive move-on, helping them sustain housing and work towards long-term stability.
Experience preferred / Minimum Requirements:
- Post qualifying experience of working within a similar role as a Senior Social Worker.
- SWE Registration.
- 3+ years post qualifying experience within UK Social Care industry.
- Enhanced DBS (we can obtain for you).
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
