A local authority located in Redbridge is looking to recruit an experienced Occupational Therapist to join an integrated community health and adult social care service. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, managing a varied caseload of approximately 4 cases per week, including both complex and standard OT cases. This role is ideal for an Occupational Therapist with strong experience in major adaptations, specialist equipment, and complex assessments, who is confident working autonomously while contributing to a supportive MDT environment. Regular supervision and flexible working opportunities are available.
Main Duties:
- Undertake holistic, person-centred Occupational Therapy assessments for adults with a range of health conditions.
- Assess for and make recommendations for major adaptations and complex equipment, including preparing sketches, reading plans, and producing detailed specifications.
- Complete manual handling assessments and provide safe moving and handling solutions.
- Manage and progress complex cases, including planning, prioritising, and reviewing interventions.
- Recommend and review simple and complex equipment, ensuring effectiveness and safe use.
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, including participation in duty work.
- Undertake support planning and reviews for service users and carers.
- Ensure practice aligns with relevant legislation, policies, and safe working guidelines.
Requirements:
- Professional Occupational Therapy qualification recognised by the HCPC.
- HCPC Registration.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in specialist equipment, major adaptations, and manual handling.
- Experience undertaking complex, holistic OT assessments in adult social care.
- Understanding of the legal social care framework and housing legislation.
- Ability to work autonomously and effectively manage, prioritise, and progress a complex caseload.
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary setting.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS/CRB (assistance available).
