East Sussex County Council is seeking a Principal Officer to lead the delivery of real, on‐the‐ground infrastructure projects for new developments across the county.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading the design and delivery of developer‐led highway schemes through S38, S171 and S278 agreements.
- Approving highway designs and overseeing construction to ensure quality, safety and minimal disruption.
- Managing complex projects, budgets and small‐to‐medium contracts from start to finish.
- Working closely with developers, contractors, planners, emergency services and local councils.
- Acting as a technical expert and mentor to colleagues, supporting team development.
- Contributing to policy development, governance, reporting and service improvement.
