Local Authority located in Herefordshire is seeking a qualified, HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist to join its Independent Living Service. This role focuses on supporting adults of all ages to maintain independence, wellbeing, and quality of life through strengths-based, person-centred practice within the community.

Main Duties:

  • Complete statutory Occupational Therapy functional, social, and environmental assessments.
  • Apply a strengths-based approach to identify risks, barriers, and preventative strategies.
  • Support adults in their own homes to engage in meaningful daily activities.
  • Recommend and facilitate provision of equipment, minor adaptations, and specialist community resources.
  • Undertake moving and handling assessments promoting dignity, safety, and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with social workers, health professionals, housing teams, families, and carers.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and work in line with safeguarding and local authority procedures.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Experience working in Adult Social Care or community settings.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and person-centred practice.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and caseload management skills.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS (assistance available).
