We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join an expanding Therapeutic Team in the West Midlands. This full-time role (Term Time only, 38 weeks per year) offers an exciting opportunity to work across three school sites, supporting KS3 and KS4 children in specialist SEN/SEMH settings. Main Duties for the Speech and Language Therapist include:

  • Assessing, planning, and delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), alongside social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
  • Designing and implementing individualised and group-based SALT programmes.
  • Providing specialist SALT advice and guidance to young people’s plans, including behaviour plans, teaching plans, risk assessments, and EHCPs.
  • Developing, delivering, and evaluating therapeutic training to staff in educational settings.
  • Using outcome and evaluation tools to measure the effectiveness of services and reporting findings to senior management.
  • Managing a caseload for individual interventions, providing specialist input to young people and teams in schools.
  • Contributing to the development of a therapeutically informed service across education teams.
  • Providing specialist knowledge of SALT principles and techniques through consultation and guidance to colleagues.
  • Liaising with external agencies, such as Local Authorities, voluntary agencies, and CAMHS, to ensure the needs of young people are appropriately recognised and met.

To Be Successful:

  • Qualified (or nearly qualified) and HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Experience supporting children and young people with SLCN and SEMH needs, ideally in educational or specialist settings.
  • Passionate about helping young people develop confidence, self-belief, and personal achievement.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Resilient, enthusiastic, and ready to work across multiple school sites.
  • Enhanced DBS (we can assist with this).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • (Desirable) Experience delivering staff training and knowledge of therapeutic models for working with children.
