A local authority located in Rochdale is looking to recruit an experienced Occupational Therapist to support a review team as part of a time-limited project. The team includes an Advanced Practitioner and Social Workers, and the role offers flexible working hours to suit the candidate.
This is a busy, fast-paced role ideal for an Occupational Therapist with strong experience in Adult Social Care who is confident reviewing care packages and working in Supported Living environments. Support will be provided by the Project Lead and Community Occupational Therapy Managers.
Main Duties:- Review existing care and support packages for adults living in Supported Living properties
- Apply a strength-based and incremental approach to assessments
- Complete Care Act 2014 assessments
- Assess service users in the community and recommend appropriate interventions
- Provision of equipment and minor adaptations
- Undertake moving and handling assessments where required
- Work collaboratively with social workers, providers, families, and other professionals
- Ensure service users’ needs are met while promoting independence, dignity, and safety
- Work in line with safeguarding policies and local authority procedures
- Minimum 2 years post-qualified experience
- Previous experience working as a community-based Occupational Therapist
- Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014
- Experience evaluating care and support packages
- Manual handling expertise
- HCPC Registration
- Enhanced DBS/CRB (assistance available)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
