Dear Provider,

The Council has a child aged 15 who requires online tuition. This child has a primary need of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Support is required for 15 hours on up to 5 days a week.

Support will be required for 11 weeks during the spring school term. The child presents as quite shy with people outside of her immediate family and as emotionally immature. She has a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder and is experiencing a high degree of Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA).

While she has been showing school-based anxiety since Nursery, her attendance difficulties became increasingly prevalent in Year 6, and her emotional regulation and social communication difficulties have intensified since this time. These include emotional dysregulation with regular vomiting, a fear of being sick, a fear of leaving the house, a fear of other people visiting the house, repetitive behaviours related to her body, and obsessive and compulsive tendencies including collecting, hoarding, and comfort-eating. In addition, she demonstrates anxiety in relation to demands being placed upon her.

Despite reasonable adjustments being put in place for her over the course of her school career to date, she continues to struggle more and more. Please can you confirm by 2pm on 16th December 2025 if you can meet their needs.
