Social Worker – Children’s Locality Team

£37.50 per hour
Hybrid working: one week per month in the office, working from home on the remaining days.
About the Role
We are seeking experienced and qualified Social Workers to join our Locality Team. You will work with children and families across a range of safeguarding services, including Children in Need, Child Protection, Children in Care, and care proceedings. The role focuses on assessing need, managing risk, and delivering effective interventions to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children and families within statutory timescales.
- Complete assessments, child protection investigations, and care planning.
- Undertake direct work with children, young people, and their families.
- Prepare reports for court proceedings, child protection conferences, and reviews.
- Develop and implement child-focused care and support plans.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with legislative and organisational requirements.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and professional development activities.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience within Children’s Services.
- Experience working within Children in Need, Child Protection, Children in Care, and/or Care Proceedings.
- Strong assessment, report-writing, and case management skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid working environment.
Desirable
- Experience within a Locality Team structure.
- Knowledge of current legislation, policies, and safeguarding procedures.
- Court work experience.
