We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Coordinator with extensive experience in international fine wine shipments to join Acker's Wine Merchant department.

This role is central to the efficient and seamless flow of inbound logistics, coordinating the movement of fine wine from suppliers to our warehousing network, and ensuring every shipment is processed, documented and recorded to our exacting standards.

The successful candidate will coordinate shipments from origin to destination, with a thorough understanding of the customs, excise and regulatory requirements governing the international transport and storage of wine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the logistics of international fine wine shipments for Acker’s Merchant departments.
  • Ensure timely and compliant delivery of wines to Acker's international warehouses.
  • Collaborate and communicate regularly with internal departments to ensure smooth logistics operations, maintaining close and efficient communication with the logistics teams in the US, HK and UK
  • Manage client expectations by providing timely and accurate updates on shipping statuses to internal teams, weekly reporting.
  • Smooth and timely communication with all European suppliers and freight forwarders to arrange collections.
  • Point of contact for internal teams regarding logistics enquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping rules and regulations specific to the wine industry, stay updated on customs regulations for wine shipments and keep internal teams and relevant stakeholders informed of new developments.
  • Maintain, review and continuously improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure logistics operations remain consistent and effective.
  • Collaborate with Head of European Logistics to proactively seek out new freight forwarders and identify opportunities to streamline logistics processes and drive greater efficiency in service delivery

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics role, with a focus on international fine wine shipment.
  • Strong knowledge of fine wine shipment procedures and customs processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client expectations effectively.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners for timely information sharing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and the MS Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Multilingual abilities (e. g., French) are advantageous.
  • Experience in the fine wine or high-value goods sectors.
  • Familiarity with additional logistics certifications or training.
  • WSET Wine & Spirit Education or similar
