General Labourer/Groundworker

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Labourer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks to support construction and maintenance projects. This role requires physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the loading and unloading of materials and equipment
• Perform general site clean-up and maintenance to ensure a safe working environment
• Operate basic hand tools and power tools as required
• Pour concrete foundations for fence posts and railings
• Follow instructions from supervisors as needed
• Help with the assembly and disassembly of scaffolding, barricades, and other structures
• Maintain an organised work area and adhere to health and safety regulations
• Understand H&S and CDM 2015

Requirements

• Previous experience in a labouring and construction is essential
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects (up to 25 kg)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Willingness to learn new skills and take on various tasks as needed
• A valid driver\’s licence is preferred but not mandatory
• Must have right to work in the UK and be based in the Sheffield area

Job Types: Temporary, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: £12.21-£23.66 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Experience:

• Construction: 3 years (required)
• Bricklaying: 2 years (preferred)
