Are you an experienced HR professional looking to make a difference in education? We are seeking a CIPD-qualified HR Support Officer to join our dedicated team, providing high-quality HR support across the Academy.

About the Role

Working 35 hours a week, you’ll play a key role in supporting our staff and leaders with all aspects of HR operations — from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, compliance, and HR data management. Working closely with the HR Manager, you’ll help ensure that our HR practices are efficient, legally compliant, and aligned with our values of fairness, integrity, and excellence. This is an exciting opportunity for an HR Support Officer who enjoys working in a dynamic and people-focused environment where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR support and guidance to leaders, managers, and staff.
  • Administer recruitment, onboarding, contracts, and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant HR records, including the Single Central Record (SCR).
  • Support HR casework such as absence, grievance, and disciplinary matters.
  • Produce HR reports and maintain up-to-date HR data systems.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes across the Academy.

About You

We’re looking for an HR Support Officer who is:

  • CIPD qualified (Level 3 or above).
  • Experienced in HR within the education sector (academy, school, or trust).
  • Knowledgeable in HR best practice, employment law, and safer recruitment.
  • Highly organised with great attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • A confident communicator with a positive, professional approach.
  • Experience with HR systems (e.g. SIMS, iTrent, or similar) would be an advantage.
