You’ll be the person who helps keep our estates clean, tidy and hazard‑free, ensuring customers can enjoy their homes and surroundings responsibly.

As our on‑the‑ground expert, you’ll carry out and co‑ordinate a full range of estate services, from structured audits and building checks to monitoring safety systems, fire prevention measures and Legionella testing.

You’ll work closely with contractors, partners and stakeholders to drive quality, resolve issues and deliver real value for money.

Whether you’re planning improvements, supporting communal clearance teams, gathering evidence for tenancy enforcement, or spotting anomalies in meter readings, you’ll play a vital role in shaping neighbourhoods people are proud to live in.

Most importantly, you’ll be our eyes and ears—talking to customers, solving problems and making sure every estate feels safe, well‑maintained and cared for.

THIS IS A MATERNITY COVER, FIXED TERM ROLE UNTIL FEB 2027

As an Estate Officer a typical day might include

  • Delivering a high-quality service that ensures the estates are kept clean, tidy and free from hazards, helping customers to enjoy their home and neighbourhood responsibly; by performing and co-ordinating a full range of estate services and building checks to ensure that our neighbourhoods are safe and pleasant places where people want to live.
  • Record and undertake regular structured audits to monitor communal blocks and neighbourhoods; ensuring that any action required is completed in required timescales.
  • Time controlled audit and recording of the condition of communal buildings and related facilities, carrying out checks on the safety and security as per procedures, including the testing of fire prevention, fire evacuations and testing for Legionella.
  • Monitoring contractor performance, ensuring detailed records are maintained and carrying out relevant inspections to ensure high quality work on behalf of Acis.

Raising and agreeing resolution of any contractor non performance for the residents and on behalf of Acis, in the first instance.

  • Identifying, planning and actioning improvements to the estate service we provide
  • Planning and ensuring work for both internal and external communal clearance teams are kept to timescales and completed to a safe and satisfactory manner standard.
  • Proactively working and negotiating with our stakeholders and partners to optimise the best outcomes for our customers and adding value for money
  • Collating proof, putting into a court format to enforce tenancy breaches, where there is evidence of a breach of the ‘by laws’ for tipping on our land
  • You will collate and record meter readings to ensure value for money; identifying and dealing with any anomalies
  • Being out and about in our neighbourhoods, talking to customers, solving problems – you will be our eyes and ears in the areas where we work

  • You’ll be adept at change, having got hands on experience living and breathing new ways of working and knowing how to bring your colleagues along for the experience.
  • Designing signage and general advice letters
  • Good overall general multi skilled experience, such as building maintenance, carrying out minor repairs, decoration and general gardening duties
  • Ability to search for value for money, either by sourcing labour and/or materials
  • Happy to roll up your sleeves and help.

What will make you stand out from the crowd

  • GCSE English & Math or equivalent
  • Knowledge of undertaking monthly inspections on fire prevention and safety equipment, i. e. fire doors, fire blankets, hose reels, extinguishers, (compliance & H&S).
  • Knowledge of undertaking weekly remedial actions to prevent legionella (Compliance & H&S).
  • Competent computer skills in word, excel, outlook and be willing to learn new ones.
  • To hold or be willing to undertake the relevant Fire and Legionella certification.
  • A confident lone worker and ability to investigate and enforce tenancy breaches, that may end in Court action.
