Join us as an Electrician (Multi-Skilled) and play a key role in keeping our empty properties safe, comfortable and compliant. Every day brings something different from electrical repairs and renovations across our housing stock to completing installation reports, managing materials, and using your technical know-how to get jobs done right the first time. You will work closely with colleagues, diagnose issues on site, and take pride in delivering high-quality work that makes a real difference.

As an Electrician, a typical day might include:

  • Undertaking all electrical repairs and renovations identified within Acis housing stock and any other properties as instructed in both tenanted and void properties.
  • Ensuring that the correct materials are identified and used to complete the work at the required quality standard.
  • Completing Electrical Installation Condition Reports, installation and minor works certificates.
  • Undertaking multi-skilled works as and when required.
  • Using and completing work details by use of a PDA hand held electronic device.
  • Completing the necessary paperwork in relation to parts and material requisitions and orders etc., in a neat and accurate manner and on time as directed by management.
  • Identifying where necessary, the extent of repairs and installations required on site, with the aim to complete in one visit, reporting any problems or further action required to the office.
  • Being responsible for the regular timely maintenance and replenishment of vehicle material stocks.
  • Liaising with tenants and your line manager concerning the timing and progress of work being undertaken.
  • Ensuring the safe handling and storage of all plant and equipment, including regular checks for road-worthiness on vehicles for which you are responsible.
  • Carrying out work activities in line with current Approved Codes of Practice and in accordance with Building Regulations, IEE wiring Regulations and the Electricity at Work Regulations 18th Edition.
  • Working in a safe manner in respect of adherence to health and safety Regulations with regard to the safety of yourself, other workers, customers and the general public.

What we are looking for:

  • 17th/18th Edition certification as a minimum standard and willing to learn new work streams.
  • A full NVQ level three in an electrical qualification or equivalent.
  • You are happiest carrying out electrical installations, rewires, fault-finding and testing.
  • Motivating, coaching and supporting within your team is one of your biggest drivers.
  • You have at least 2 years experience working in the domestic Electrical field.
  • You can demonstrate a good understanding of the requirements under the Electrical regulations.
  • You can evidence good skillsets in the area of gas installations and repairs.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • 2391 or equivalent in section and testing.

What will make you stand out from the crowd (but not essential):

  • Fire alarm or emergency lighting testing experience.
  • 2400 or equivalent in electrical design.
  • You hold a gold CSCS skills card.
  • You hold additional qualifications in the following areas: commercial gas; oil; solid fuel; renewable energy; unvented hot water systems; water regulations; and building regulations.
