In this dynamic role, you'll be the bridge between strategic management and on-the-ground action. You won't just sit behind a desk; you'll lead by example, mentoring your maintenance team, overseeing major summer works, and managing contractors to ensure our facilities are safe, compliant, and stylish. From project managing remedial works to building positive relationships with our students, you will ensure every Move-in Weekend starts with a wow moment.

Although the majority of this role will be in Nottingham, there may be occasional travel (1-2 days per week depending on time of year) to our Sheffield site in which mileage will be reimbursed at above standard rates.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supervise maintenance and housekeeping teams across both sites to deliver high-level service.
  • Complete repairs, problem solve, and deliver quality maintenance that meets all service standards.
  • Conduct people management tasks including 1-2-1s, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Work alongside Site Services Officers.
  • Support building maintenance and compliance, including repairs and redecoration.
  • Lead our summer works programme with tight timeframes and effective stakeholder communication.
  • Maintain strong relationships with students and resolve issues professionally.
  • Project manage remedial works throughout the year, on time and within budget.
  • Maintain accurate records for asset and stock management.
  • Help promote and welcome people at Open Days and Move-in Weekends (advanced notice will be given).

What you'll bring:

  • Supervisory/management and leadership experience.
  • Experience of leading a highly motivated team achieving strong outcomes.
  • Intermediate level maintenance skills in joinery, plumbing, and decorating.
  • Experience using repair and maintenance skills in the housing or accommodation sector.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety and building safety legislation.
  • Experience converting legislation into operational practices.
  • Working or have worked within Purpose Built Student Accommodation or Housing Sector.
  • Knowledge of safe working systems, health and safety, and building management.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines.
  • Great IT, data analysis, and report writing skills.
  • Positive, energised, and enthusiastic person with real zest for helping others.
  • Resilience for working in challenging but rewarding education and employment sectors.
  • UK driving licence or ability to travel between sites regularly.

Being part of the Acis team, you'll get:

  • Generous holiday entitlement: 25 days annual leave.
  • Matched Pension contributions up to 4%.
  • The opportunity to undertake professional training, funded by us.
  • One day's paid leave a year for volunteering work.
  • Staff benefits with Paycare health and benefits scheme.
  • Benefits with Acis Perkz discount scheme for shopping, days out, and more.
  • Employee recognition scheme including gift vouchers.
  • Long service awards for loyal employees.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Employee Assistance Programme for confidential advice and support.
  • Professional membership subscription for professional development.
  • Death in service benefit as part of our pension scheme.

If you're a problem-solver who balances technical repairs with people management and data-driven reporting, we want to hear from you. Join us in creating those wow moments that make a real difference to students' lives.
