We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team and play a key role in supporting the financial health of the business.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, analysing data and building strong relationships with colleagues across the organisation.
From preparing financial reports and reconciliations to supporting budget monitoring, cash flow forecasting and year-end accounts, you'll help ensure our finances are accurate, compliant and provide meaningful insight into business performance.
You'll work closely with stakeholders at all levels, providing trusted support and helping decision-makers understand how we're performing as an organisation.

This is a fixed term contract for one year covering Maternity leave.
As an Assistant Accountant, a typical day might include
- Providing transaction processing and financial analysis support to the finance team.
- Supporting the monthly review of the financial performance of the group, including performing analysis of variances against budgets and production of management reports.
- Preparing and inputting ledger journals as required, ensuring the accuracy of reported income and expenditure.
- Assisting with monthly reconciliation of balance sheet control accounts and resolution of queries arising.
- Assisting in the collection, analysis and reconciliation of the annual service charges.
- Assisting with the preparation of annual accounts and supporting working papers and using this data to respond to enquiries from external auditors as part of the year end audit process.
- Assisting with the analytical review of the financial results returned by the Group’s entities.
- Assisting with monitoring of those financial transactions for the group entities which are carried out within the group or by commercial partners and ensuring compliance with agreed contractual terms.
- Applying your strong technical knowledge of accounting to deliver amazing outcomes for our customers.
- Maintaining daily bank and cash records.
- Maintaining the short-term cash flow forecast based on a combination of known cash in/out flow timings and reasonable assumptions and liaising with business colleagues as required to inform this work.
- Meeting with your stakeholders to plan, prioritise and support on financial queries.
- Business Partnering with internal Heads of Services to provide financial support and analysis to their department.

- A great standard of education, financial/accountancy degree or related A-Level qualification would be an advantage
- Numerate with the ability to process financial information and transactions
- Customer focused and a good ambassador for the business
- A solid all-round communicator who is able to show assertiveness when required
- Good IT skills which are used to support individual performance
