Job Description:

This role is all about evolution, helping us evolve our organisation to meet the needs of our growth ambitions – and working with colleagues from service improvement and other areas to make it happen. You’ll understand the importance of great relationships, be able to nurture these both internally and externally and know communication is key to the successful delivery of any project; whilst ensuring your key stakeholders are engaged and informed every step of the way. Appreciating the importance of sharing our success, tying the work you do in to the bigger why, and working with team across the group to ensure we capture, measure and share the impact were making through our programmes.

As an Evolution Programme Business Partner , a typical day might include:

  • Appraising, establishing and implementing innovative programme and change management tools that unlock and drive forward the delivery of projects that achieve group objectives
  • Being responsible for a programme of large scale, evolutionary projects that support our strategic direction and help us to achieve our corporate ambitions
  • Driving end-to-end delivery across multiple projects, ensuring efficient, effective delivery, whilst managing project interdependencies and priorities, across all our business units
  • Future planning – ensuring the capacity and capability of the organisation to deliver projects with competing priorities – and working with the senior management team to agree this.
  • Developing feasibility and business cases and ensuring governance of project documentation to maintain strategic oversight, delivery assurance, and constant communication at all times.
  • Working across a wide section of internal colleagues and external partners to ensure specialist input where its needed, cross-organisational buy in and appropriate sign-off when required – leading the project steering board group wide to ensure joined up thinking and innovation at all times.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget and the quality anticipated.
  • Playing a huge part in change management, working with colleagues to ensure projects and their impact is evidenced and communicated across the group and beyond.
  • Reporting on progress, challenges and risks to our key stakeholders, executive team and our board
  • Constantly risk assessing, being solution focused and target driven. You will understand each project, the \’why\’ and the strategic fit. The \’how\’ we will leave down to you to work with the teams to deliver it.
  • Reviewing and evaluating project completions and success – focusing on their impact and the wider strategic impact for our customers and communities

Some of the experience/skills we need to consider you:

  • Experience of managing cross-cutting programmes and projects, and implementing programme management tools.
  • Your a strong leader, an effective communicator and a great relationship builder. You will know how to engage and motivate people around you to get the job done
  • Successful track record of delivering a programme which requires working effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and/or organisations to deliver shared goals Your solution focused and target driven, keeping your eye on the goal at all times
  • you will have a strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies
  • managing project budgets and risks are natural to you – and you can talk numbers with finance as much as words with marketing
  • strong skills in writing and presenting – with experience of business case and feasibility preparation, report writing, and presenting to senior teams
  • You have great business acumen, understanding the business context and be able to align the programme with our strategic goals
  • You will have a proven track record of managing large scale projects, and that they were delivered on time and to budget
  • You will never compromise quality, working hard to ensure high standards of work in everything you do
  • You’ll be passionate about making a difference. Our projects deliver impact in our communities each and every day. We want to deliver the best we can for our customers and you will be a key part in helping us to achieve this
  • Your able to think on your feet, finding solutions to challenging problems as they crop up
  • You’ll have an eye for detail, making sure nothing falls through the gaps and we maximise every efficiency and opportunity

What will make you stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience of successfully operating in a complex organisational or political environment.
  • A general understanding of issues and policy relating to communities
  • Experience of working on government funded projects and the complexities this can bring
  • An interest or experience in impact measurement at a community and national level
  • Experience in developing community and customer engagement activities – and co-designing projects and services with those who will use them
