Stepping into the Quality Assurance Lead position means becoming the driving force behind exceptional teaching, learning and compliance across our organisation. You’ll blend strategic oversight with hands-on influence: leading audits, guiding tutors, analysing performance data, and championing continuous improvement. As a Quality Assurance Lead, a typical day might include:

  • Managing robust, reliable and consistent education quality processes as part of our group wide quality assurance team.
  • Supporting the delivery of the effective implementation of the teaching and learning strategy, providing outstanding success for our learners.
  • Managing quality compliance, including internal and external audits including inspections (such as Ofsted) to ensure strict control and assurance measures are in place.
  • Ensuring quality, compliance and consistency of all course delivery through review of lesson plans, observations, regular audit checks and reviews of course/learner paperwork, developing support sessions with all tutors as required.
  • Leading quality audits, monitoring progress, developing observation themes to inform our standardisation schedule.
  • Owning our quality calendar and cycle – coordinating tracking and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Analysing data, feedback and outcomes, preparing reports for Committee, Board and local authorities as required.
  • Implementing standards and activities to ensure ongoing improvement of our service, reporting on action against our annual Self-Assessment Report and Quality Improvement Plan and accompanying targets.
  • Multi-site working.
  • Delivering exceptional teaching, learning, and assessment across assigned programmes.
  • Leading curriculum development and ensuring alignment with learner needs and accreditation standards.
  • Overseeing internal verification and supporting quality assurance processes.
  • Mentoring, coaching and actively monitoring Level 1 and Level 2 tutors against unit delivery.
  • Monitoring learner progress and implementing strategies to raise achievement and attendance.
  • Upholding and modelling high standards of safeguarding, professionalism, and inclusion.
  • Liaising with employers and external stakeholders to enhance vocational learning opportunities.
  • Independently pursuing ongoing CPD in your area of expertise to ensure learning remains current and appropriate.

Some of the experience/skills we need to consider you:

  • Education to degree level or can demonstrate relevant equivalent experience.
  • Teaching qualification or relevant equivalent qualification with demonstrable teaching experience.
  • Recognised industry qualification.
  • Qualified IQA Level 4, or working towards Qualified Assessor for example Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement.
  • Excellent knowledge and practical experience of managing Education contracts and Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF).
  • Demonstrable evidence of leadership and management development and skills.
  • An organised individual who can plan and monitor a varied workload.
  • Strong people skills which encourages others to work collaboratively.
  • Strong literacy skills with the ability to write clearly and effectively.
  • A flexible approach to work and the ability to meet challenges and adapt to change.
  • Being self-motivated, resilient, with a drive and determination to achieve results.
  • General awareness of health and safety and building management.
  • Comfortable with, and can engage with people both 1-2-1 and in groups.
  • Strong IT skills, across multiple platforms, with an in-depth knowledge of office tools, with an eye for detail that’s second to none.
  • Strong communicator with excellent customer service experience and skills.
  • Ability to work as a team, under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others, whether in the same team or external support providers.
  • You’re a positive, energised and enthusiastic person, with a real zest for helping others.
  • Planning and coordinating is what gets you up every day.

  • Experience leading on quality development initiatives.
  • Experience of developing QIP action plans, and delivering standardisation sessions to support.
  • Experience of organising enhancement activities to support learner achievement.
  • Mentoring qualification.
  • Ability to contribute to internal CPD and staff mentoring.
