This is an opportunity for an experienced London Market professional to operate with a high degree of autonomy, taking responsibility for complex accounts while contributing to improvements in reporting, analytics and credit control processes. The position offers a combination of hands-on portfolio management, stakeholder engagement and the opportunity to support the continued development of a data-driven credit control function.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of a large Delegated Authority portfolio, ensuring effective management of premium settlements and outstanding balances.
- Utilise dashboard analytics and Power BI to monitor premium variances, identify discrepancies and track portfolio performance.
- Ensure the timely processing of FDO signings and receipt of paid premium bordereaux across designated key accounts.
- Reconcile written and paid premiums, investigating discrepancies and identifying outstanding balances requiring resolution.
- Maintain regular communication with Lloyd’s brokers and coverholders to ensure timely settlement of premiums in accordance with agreed terms of trade.
- Arrange and attend meetings with brokers where settlement performance falls below expectations, agreeing appropriate actions to resolve overdue balances.
- Work closely with underwriting stakeholders to identify problematic accounts, resolve outstanding issues and implement remedial action plans.
- Review binding authority agreements and underlying policy documentation to support premium reconciliation and settlement activities.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of Delegated Authority credit control reporting, improving visibility of portfolio performance and outstanding exposures.
- Support process improvement initiatives, including exploring opportunities to utilise automation, AI tools and Microsoft Copilot to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities.
What We're Looking For
- Strong credit control experience gained within the Lloyd’s or London insurance market, with particular exposure to Delegated Authority business.
- Good understanding of the Lloyd’s premium settlement cycle, including the processing, reconciliation and collection of Delegated Authority premiums.
- Experience managing complex premium accounts, investigating discrepancies and resolving outstanding balances.
- Familiarity with binding authority agreements, including key terms and conditions relevant to premium settlements and credit control.
- Working knowledge of the Insurers' Market Repository (IMR), including policy documentation and settlement information.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including IF statements, lookups and Pivot Tables.
- Experience using Power BI or similar dashboard analytics tools to monitor portfolio performance and identify outstanding issues.
- Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the confidence to engage directly with brokers, coverholders and underwriting stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise a substantial portfolio and take ownership of resolving complex credit control issues.
- A proactive, analytical and commercially aware approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Desirable but Not Essential
- Experience managing large or complex Delegated Authority portfolios, particularly high-value or strategically important accounts.
- Exposure to improving credit control reporting processes, dashboards or management information.
